GAME DAY
GAME DAY
Carlsbad, San Diego
San Diego is well aware of the impact that nature has on our health. The smiles that are abundant here are cold-hard proof that we are in fact solar-powered. Local’s days are planned around the sunset— and for these girls, they plan their baseball schedule around their surfing one. But I want to know, is it the nature that’s so healing and restorative or is it the fact that we do these activities together? After this interview, I’m going to argue to say that it’s both. These girls became cold hard proof that these joys are not just healing for ourselves— they have a ripple-effect when we do them in community.
Yes, baseball may bring us all together- but it’s who we are before, during, and after the game that makes us family. Beyond honored to have gotten a taste of what these LOYAL-to-their-Padres(!!) surfing girl’s lives and hearts are like beyond our stadium walls. Join us as we journey with them through their game day routine from the waves in Carlsbad, down The Coaster, all the way down south to the stadium.

Listen up.
Well, Carlsbad left my heart full. For the full conversation that shows you why this day was so special and impactful for everyone involved, check out the uncut audio interview here. You’ll hear:
•What nature does for these 20-something year-old girl’s health to combat feelings of anxiousness & days of depression: and what they specifically learn from the grandiosity & power of the ocean
•How surfing now serves a part in their bigger purpose in life (ps. thank you to the Dad’s that plant seeds for the future within your daughters!)
•How they often hold their own as the only women in the water… expressing their freest selves and leaving a lasting impression while they’re at it —
and more.
Lastly, a very very special thank you to artist @ryan_wenze for contributing his gift of music and art-from-the-heart for this project & episode. Honest? It was everything. #FeelsLikeHome
